Syracuse could hardly get a shot on goal in its loss to Miami on Sunday.

Syracuse (7-3-2, 0-2-1 Atlantic Coast) surrendered two late second-half goals against Miami (7-4-0, 2-1) on Sunday to lose its second straight ACC match.

The Orange attack was unable to get anything going throughout. It failed to record a single shot on goal until just five seconds left in the game, despite earning seven corners and six attempted shots that were all wide.

Miami attacked early on and dominated possession for the first half. Although the Hurricanes fired four shots on goal, the teams were tied at halftime.

Miami continued to harass the SU defense throughout the second half and notched 11 shots from the 45th to the 70th minutes.

However, like last week against Clemson, the Orange defense finally relented in the 72nd minute. Junior Ronnie Johnson finished for her fourth goal on the season.

The Orange was unsuccessful in conjuring any response. Shots by Carolin Bader and Stephanie Skilton went high over the net. The dagger was in the 81st minute as Miami senior Gracie Lachowecki scored off another assist from Dal Pazzo.

Miami outshot Syracuse 19-6 on the day. The Orange will try to repair its broken attack next Sunday, Oct. 2., against Duke.
